Zona Zoo is the section of the stadium limited to students only, and usually seen as a sea of red on game days. In my opinion, it is the easiest place on campus to find school spirit and a sense of student community. I believe this image captured the concept of student community perfectly, as our section is entirely filled with students in red apparel- yet void of any fans of the other team in their own separate section. It was a big game, sold out entirely for our school, yet almost unattended by anyone supporting the other team which only showcases the strength of our student community even further.

I think that the theme community works perfectly for this photo. You have demonstrated how UofA students all come together for football games to cheer on the team. I also really liked the use of colors in this picture. The red captures your attention immediately and the green on the field lets the viewer know what is going on in the picture.- Amy Lougher
ReplyDeleteI believe the ZonaZoo is what most UA students think of when they think college community. The angle from which this photo was taken allows the viewer to not only see the field and the football game, but see the mass of red, who are the students making up this very community. The saturated color make the photo really stand out, along with the white washed sky, which keeps the viewers attention focused on the students and game not the background of the campus.

I really thought this photo had a lot of impact on me as a U of A student myself. The ZonaZoo section of the football games is considered one of the biggest student sections in the PAC-10 and this photo really brings out our school spirit. The fact that on the opposite side of the stadium there aren't too many fans supporting the other team is a hidden message within the picture itself, the contrast change to bring out the red and green in the photo also adds a lot of personality.
